Safety Days back down to Zero

The spark, a distruptor to the entire online system

There it was - the spark in the darkness of my mind eternally on guard like an infantry of attention seekers. A mind eternally working to suck up all the information the world has to offer as a source of fuel much like in the film Monsters Inc - where the monsters went to the human world to capture scream power to fuel their city and livelihood. My mind works like this. Constant farming, harvesting, scanning and shall we say "hoovering" of information. Sorting and filtering like a brand new Amazon logistics center working on thousands of levels to sort and compartmentalize every detail. A massive computer source running cutting edge algorithms and pattern recognition far beyond the hurrah hurrah AI coming out these days. Like an overbloated iOS or Android app - its always running in the background but, it does have a weakness. A chink in its tall factory walls of production and delivery.

Generally, the system works to find normal pattern recognition to maintain safety in the operating system. However sometimes, it happens that the pattern recognized is connected deep in the earth like a geothermal source. A pattern shows up which is considered outdated, far lost in the world of up-to-date computing and operation. A piece of vital code which never quite got incorporated into the operating system. The deeper the source of the lost code - the more of an impact it will have. WIthout it, generally the system and engineering plans need to multiply exponentially to try and manage and reroute information for what would have been a well designed, simple and elegant solution. We all know what you are thinking - its like windows - no matter what version you get - somehow over 3 to 6 months your cutting edge computer starts to slow down - sometimes until it is unmanageable requireing a full reboot or clean reinstall.

When such a deep stored piece of information is recognized the system immediately goes on alert - essentially its similar to those wonderful on the edge of your seat movies where the Russian sub is coming closer to the American one and the captain of the sub starts counting down from DefCon 5 to 4 , 3, 2 and 1. Red alert lights start spinning, noisey buzzers start bringing all hands on deck and at the ready. A deep sourced piece of information dating back to the beginning of the system construction is no small event - have you seen the current trailer of Mission Impossible ... you get my point. Accessing it and bringing it back into the operating code will quickly start to affect all systems and their stability because these tiny essential pieces of code will rewire the way the code interprets the information creating new pathways of information flow never previously seen.

To say the entire system becomes destabilised is an understatement. In fact, sometimes the information is so valuable and essential to the original design of the system that the entire system goes offline completely. The factories, the attention probes, the pattern recognition, the sorting all become still. It's as if our beloved life giving operating system is bypassed. And yet, the factory still remains and there is this very strange phenomenon which occurs rarely but does from time to time. The walls of the factory, the conveyor belts, the emergency stop switches, the whirling motors and synchronized control booths all become translucent. Not invisible, just transparent as if you can see from one side of the factory to the other through everything which exists in the factory. Its' an incredible sight if you manage to get patio seats on the outside however if you are the foreman or production chief - your numbers are not going to reflect well. In fact, the consecutive number of safety days is going to go back down to zero and start again. Goodbye predictable targets, goodbye Christmas bonuses, goodbye current management. When this system comes back online - it will need new overseers to adjust to all the changes in the system far and wide.

Early retirement isn't ever expected; however, there is definitely a place of honor for the previous operational control, output and innovation which kept the overall terraform safe for all the years until this moment. No one can say why this piece of essential code was recognized on a particular day. Much like business and passing fads which drive it, in this busy and mesmerizing information saturated world - somewhere in it all - tiny sparks are out there, recognizable and full of transformable power which incidentally are far more efficient and EcoFriendly 1. The more pieces of vital sparks and information obtained over life reduce the need for consumables which run our factories. There is some renewable source which takes over, one we don't fully understand but continue to seek, observe and study.
